Your ideas helped to forge my worldview - from the barren lands of Northern Canada and its sea of slaughter, to the Virungas of Central Africa, the land of the last remaining mountain gorillas and the birthplace of man. You taught me about the richness of our past, its ancient peoples, and the injustice of modern massacres in an era of planetary extinction - ours is an uncertain future.
