Before this sermon we heard today, I Will Follow Him, was even written Phoebe came up to me and asked if we did rebaptisms. I told her in the UMC we do not re-baptize but we can do a reaffirmation of her baptism. She then told me her story (which I can repeat.....). 71 years ago on Mothers Day she was baptized in the First Methodist Church of Roseville at the age of 3 days old. She thought it would be appropriate to reaffirm her baptism on the day she was baptized so long ago. As we got into that part of the service we invited those from the congregation who would like to join Phoebe in this celebration. We had ten others from the congregation surround Phoebe and we all reaffirmed our baptisms with her. The Holy Spirit was definitely in the house today. TBTG!
