Before this weekend, I was only just vaguely aware of Leanne from seeing posts on Facebook of her and Ehsan together, but upon meeting her in line for check in at Worlds Toughest Tough Mudder, I could tell right away what a warm and friendly person she was. Shortly after that, as we were setting up the pits in preparation for the race the next day, Ehsan asked me if I could keep a secret and told me he planned to propose to Leanne at the finish line! He said he needed someone to get the ring to him after the last obstacle and I told him that of course I would! Just before heading to the start line the next morning, Ehsan snuck me the ring. I placed it in my bag, where I would carry it for the next 24 hours, feeling honored to be entrusted with this responsibility (not to mention the ring itself!!). Over the next 24 hours I got to know Leanne, and got a glimpse of the love, caring and support she shares with Ehsan, and my excitement for their moment grew. Seeing their devotion to one another, and being a part of Ehsans anticipation, I knew I had to make sure the moment was perfect for them! So, unbeknownst to them, I alerted the race staff and the camera crew of the pending proposal. As I waited for Ehsan to climb out of the water after his final cliff jump, I started to cry and shake from the joy and excitement, telling the spectators around me what he was about to do. As he came into view they began to cheer for him, reaching a crescendo as I handed him the ring, and raced ahead to ensure the crew would be ready. The crew reached them just in time to capture Ehsans speech, which hed been rehearsing for most of 50 miles over the preceding 24 hours. When Leanne said yes, and pulled Ehsan up from his knee to kiss him, I shouted She said YES!!! because I wanted everyone there to share their joy. Shortly after that I heard the emcee announcing, Thats a marriage thats going to last and I couldnt agree more! Congratulations again, Ehsan Farkhondeh and Leanne Bradley! I am honored and blessed to have shared this moment with you and I know you have a beautiful future before you! P.S. Hopefully the real camera crew got a much better video!
