[Begin Rant] Its a conspiracy I tell you. Ive been thinking of starting a petition, let me know what you think. Over the last 60 years or more the standard toilet paper holder in bathrooms has been five inches wide, consistently. Twenty years ago (or so it seems) the standard toilet paper roll was about 4.5 inches wide. In the last two years all manufacturers, intending to cut down on cost, have reduced the width from 4.25 inches to 3.9 inches. Some have even attempted to compensate by offering us the mega-roll which only adds to the length of the roll. Were missing out on wiping surface to the extent we need to bring back the Sears catalog to our outhouses. Pretty soon theyll give us a box of finger covers and tell us to just wash our hands. I say, give us back the surface we use to have and take the excess off the end if they want to save money. [End Rant]
