(Malachi 3:8-11 MSG) The tithe is already Gods.. that 10% is not ours to DEBATE on whether or not we SHOULD give... its already designated as Gods. You cant rob someone by withholding your own property. **PER M-W.COM...DEFINITION OF ROB- To deprive of something due, expected or desired; to keep someone from getting something expected or wanted** So spending the tithe on something else is technically taking Gods money...MISAPPROPRIATING FUNDS!! Tithing is not for God. God doesnt need our money. Tithing is for us. Tithing is an action of us giving God what is already rightfully His & what He has given us to begin with (He blesses us with the finances in the first place...thru the job or financial provision Hes given us to tithe from). We tithe so that the curse is rebuked from our life & the windows of Heaven can be open over us & blessing poured out on our lives. God is bound by His Word. If we dont tithe, we are subject to the curse and cannot access the promise of protection and blessing associated with tithing. The tithe is not optional, it is paying what already belongs to God. Like my mortgage payment. Before my paycheck is even deposited in the bank, a portion already belongs to my mortgage company. That portion is not up for debate (unless I want to be homeless), its designated. We should view the tithe in the same fashion.... But consider it of even higher importance. Unlike my mortgage payment, which effects where I live, the tithe effects EVER area of my life. God wants us to tithe so we will be POSITIONED for the OVERFLOW, abundant blessing. God doesnt want our tithe because He wants us broke and to be financially burdened, He wants us to tithe so he can bless us beyond our wildest dreams Not tithing does three things #1) It robs God #2) It makes us subject to the curse #3) Cuts us off from blessings/shuts up the windows of Heaven over our life Dont view tithing as something you HAVE to do.... see it as something you GET to do. Tithing is a principle in the Kingdom of God that positions us for blessing & protection.
