Beginning today in the second epistle of Timothy. Paul is writing this letter from prison warning Timothy that he will come under attack for teaching the truth as men desert the truth for those teaching feel good messages having itching ears. As we read a word of wisdom from our Father I ask that he open eyes and ears to the truth in Yashua Jesus name. 1:1 Paul an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, according to the promise of life which is in Christ Jesus, 2. To Timothy my dearly beloved son: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God the Father and Jesus our Lord. 3. I thank God, whom I serve from the forefathers with pure conscience, that without ceasing I have rememberance of thee in my prayers night and day. Timothy was Pauls spiritual son. Not biological. Remember these were dangerous times to be teaching Jesus Christ and Paul knew full well what trouble it could bring for Timothy. He is letting him know he is praying for him night and day. Always. As we should each other in this day and age. 4. Greatly desiring to see thee, being mindful of my tears that I may be filled with joy: 5. When I call to rememberance the the unfeighned faith that is in thee, which dwelled first in thy grandmother Lois and in thy mother Eunice; and I am persuaded is in thee also. 6. Wherefore I put the in rememberance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands. This gift Paul is talking about is prophecying and or teaching that Timothy possessed. 7. For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and love, and a sound mind. 8. Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testemony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou a partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; 9. Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began. Paul is telling Timothy not to be afraid to use his gift that YHVH called him to even before this earth age. God set him aside and chose him in that first earth age. Paul is telling him not to let these false teachers deter him because he was given the spirit of power not fear. Use the gift God gave you when he chose you in the first earth age! 10. But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: 11. Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and a teacher of the Gentiles. 12. For thee which cause I also suffer these things: never the less I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which he has committed unto him against that day. Who did Paul say he was teaching? The Gentiles. The goy!!! 13. Hold fast the form of sound words, which thou hast heard of me, of faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. 14. That good thing that which was committed unto thee keep by the Holy Ghost which dwelleth in us. 15. This thou knowest that all they which are in Asia be turned away from me, of whom are Phygelus and Hermogenes. 16. The Lord give mercy unto the house of Onesiphorus; for he oft refreshed me, and was not ashamed for my chain: 17. But when he was in Rome, he sought me out very diligently, and found me. 18. The lord grant unto him that he may find mercy of the Lord in that day: and in how many things he ministered unto me at Ephesus, thou knoeest very well. ~In love sister Misty~
