Being a gun owner has forced me into many debates. Well, for those who disagree with it or dislike guns this was my response to that in a recent debate... I too respect people’s views whichever they may be. I have no inherent bias to guns, gun ownership or any affiliation with gun clubs. My stance is one of perseverance due to the overwhelming political attack on this single right in recent years. I do not ask anyone to own a gun, nor expect them to change their views on them. All I ever ask is that people understand that I took an oath upon enlistment in the military to uphold and defend the constitution. Rightly so, I would defend any other amendment just as strongly. It is clearly stated among service members and veterans that this oath does not cease upon your separation from the armed forces. I honestly believe we wouldn’t have the first amendment if we ever lost the second...no further explanation needed.
