Being a lover of books, one of my simple pleasures of living in a big city like Houston is that I can visit the severel cheap bookstores and explore books to my delight, that is whenever I can manage the time. There are ten so called Half Priced Books in different cocerners of the city, and whenever I can steal some time from my family obligations, I sneak into any of them, and defying Robert Frost, I enjoy. Not that I can buy books cheap (which is true) but that sometime I find treasures, and these books stores are good for finding unknown books on any subject. Being a literary bedouin my interests range from philosophy to history to fiction to science and quantum physics to mathematics, engineering and beyond. One day I found H G Wells 2 volume set of Outline of History (almost new) for one dollar each. I bought the set although I already had an old set thinking that the new set will go well in my bookslef better and I will dispose the old one. One day I found a rare book on the life on O Henry, or on Ernest Heminway written by his brother. Some of the treasures such collected include Tellers of Tales (an out of print collection of 100 short stories selected by Somersat Maughm), Wisdom of China and India by Lin Yutang, My India, My America by Krishnanlal Shridharani), Collected Works on Anton Chekhov , many treasures on Buddhism, on Quantaum Mechanics. History of Mathematics and others. The other day I suddenly found another treasure in the Poetry section: The title says Ten Poems to Change your Life written by one Roger Housden whom I dont know. The title reminded me of the story that we read in ৰাংপাতা where one guy was trying to sell তিনি হেজাৰ টকাত তিনটা কথা. I was curious to see what these ten poems were. The ten poems included, to my delight, poems from Kabir, Rumi, Walt Whitman, Pablo Neruda and others. Some of these are new to me. The book is almost brand new and for five dollars it is a steal. I am really enjoying the book which is teaching me afresh what poetry really is and how to enjoy a good poem. Regards.
