Being aware of people walking around like this black or white is not racism or profiling its listening to your sixth sense and common sense...the gas station and people should not have to walk on egg shells letting guys like this walk around so they dont get accused of profiling.. Please profile... Police have to be able to watch for bad guys stalking gas stations... Im a huge civil rights advocate but MLK would turn OVER in his grave if he saw kids or people punching kicking and attacking police officers and then people protesting violently destroying property in HIS name... No.. Im sorry people who act like that are NOT who he was fighting for!! Good hard working members of society unfairly discriminated against for no other reason then the color of their skin. Dont walk around sneakily for no reason with your face covered deep in a hoodie in hot weather at a gas station (or jewelry store, bank etc) and you wont have a problem. Its not rocket science. There.. All set! At a gas station in south South St Pete Steve and I were getting gas about a year ago.. I noticed a guy walking nearer and nearer with a hood up over his head in 90 degrees like he was sweeping.. I thought ok weird but he is just sweeping and glanced down as I sat in the passenger side to watch him sweep when he got closer to the car and Steve pumping gas I noticed he WASNT sweeping, the broom and base werent even touching the ground all the way and that he was just doing the motions and his eyes were darted to Steve.. I calmly opened the glove box and got out my gun fully prepared to use it if he tried anything...Sadly knowing he was likely un-armed so this would turn into poor innocent guy gets shot by rich mean people for no reason even if he did do something so I made sure his eyes saw my gun and a face that said, go ahead make my day to AVOID ever having to use it and he quickly walked away... You always want to avoid any situation like this.. Not encourage or brew...A police officer who trained me said you shouldnt have a gun unless you are fully prepared to use it (which I am) but with the knowledge that if the person deserved it or not your life will NEVER be the same so of there are steps to avoid with out making yourself a victim or dead, try that first if possible. And the owners of the station should be well with in there rights to say as I do at GDS... Take your hood down especially in hot weather...Come on... There are cameras in this zone for a reason here and its hot out.. NO REASON unless you are up to NO good to hide your face, period.. Its not like where or when its cold and you need a hat... Also properly arm yourself, training and license. More of these stories need to end with the bad guys in the body bag or stretcher. People like that gun toting wack job murderer Goerge Zimmerman put normal citizens who want to protect themselves back 100 years... He didnt need to be there.. He could have avoided the situation... He wanted and pursued it.. The list goes on... Now last week I had kids walking down my street while I was away with a big Flat screen TV from a neighbor who was likely AT WORK.. It was being carried by hand and NO one wants to call the police so they dont seem racist??? OMG.. Be aware.. Protect yourself.. You dont want your kids shot?? I completely understand...Me either... I keep mine busy and at home, I teach them to respect elders and police officers or I keep them working or in safe place playing and dont let them dress like thugs.. Try it? Its amazing..Theres no problem, no one gets shot!! Now if you cant commit or afford that level of care STOP having kids.. That is a crime in itself against society and innocent beautiful children...who then turn into this to live..because you are incapable of raising and providing for the human beings you bring into the world.. Its not a money thing, its a respect thing.. Ahhh.. There is my thoughts and opinion on the matter:) lol... Politically correct or not, its my educated opinion:).
