Living away from Limerick, since Sep 2010, has given me enormous pride in my native city. I can get very defensive when people that are not from Limerick or who have never visited the place speak ill truths of my hometown. The enormous sense of community in Limerick is awe-inspiring. Everybody helps everybody when they can. I haven’t said it publicly before, but I am very proud of the people (you know who you are) that have stayed in Limerick when the easiest thing to do was to get up and leave (I left for college reasons, and I always had the intention to return and contribute more of what I could have). I am proud of those that remained and created the Limerick that exists today. If any good has come from that inaccurate representation of Limerick by TV3 it certainly is that it has made people stand up once and for all declare our pride in Limerick and its community. #LimerickandPROUD
