Being in financial Industry from almost last 10 years.. I can certainly say without iota of doubt that there is no...Not a 1% research is happening in Indian Financial Industry. India is producing millions of MBAs every year. Which MBA college has its own pool of research studies to teach student. Aren’t they buying case studies from Harvard, Stanford? Is it research? On the name of Equity research companies are only printing/publishing the historical facts with future projection considering the Macro economic scenario. Is it research? You can easily compare 10 big fund management houses. 80~85% fund allocation is same only its composition varies. Is it research..? Do not put all your eggs in one basket... In my opinion it is the biggest misquote. Because on one side these investment managers suggest us to take risk as we are young and have long horizon to get big returns and on the other side they suggest us to diversify. Is it not a contradiction? Is it a research? Is it not applicable to fund houses as they are responsible for public money rather than applicable to Individuals? Is it research for which they are getting BIG FAT pay checks? What study do we have for debt instruments/Products? On the name of structured thing aren’t lending institutions tapping their own back for doing nothing extra? Aren’t lending institutions beating the same bush again and again? Indian Banking sector is into majorly information based lending. Is it research? Aren’t their major energy, cost & man hour outflow is for saving skin from legal laws rather than doing some research and developing new products ? Without any comparison/study we are buying products, real estates, gold and other dead investment or basic necessities and calling it assets. Is investing in real estate with getting mortgages a good deal. Aren’t we into the herd mentality? In my opinion now we not only need financial inclusion but also financial literacy.
