Beloveds! A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches and loving favour rather than silver and gold. A good name is better than precious ointment. He who has character (a good name) though he may have nothing else has the means of being eminently useful, not only to his immediate friends, but to his society, to his God and to the world. When a person loses his/her good name, all is lost. He despises himself; he is despised by his fellowmen. He is of necessity a miserable and useless man. It is better to be poor, be a beggar, and be cast into prison (like Joseph), or condemned to perpetual slavery than to be destitute (poor) of a good name. a good name/character is above rubies, gold crown or kingdoms. It makes friends, creates funds, draws patronage and opens a sure and easy way to wealth, honour and happiness. Labour to get good name and keep it. Shalom!!!
