Benton County Veterans Memorial is proud to announce they have been chosen as a 2013 host for the Vietnam Combat Veterans The Moving Wall. The Moving Wall will arrive in Camden, TN on Wednesday, October 30th. The Wall will officially open for visitation beginning Thursday, October 31st, with closing ceremonies on Monday, November 4th. A Motorcycle Escort will kick off activities beginning at 7:30 on the morning of October 31st. The escort will lead The Moving Wall to its destination at Veterans Park, within Benton County Industrial Park, where assembly will begin at 9:00 a.m., followed by an Opening Ceremony at 12:30 on Thursday the 31st featuring the Camden Central High School Band. Visitation will begin 24 hours a day for the 5 day visitation ending November 4th. Admission and Parking are FREE. The area of display is handicap accessible. Wheelchairs, visitor assistance and restrooms are available. A special event will commence at 10:00 AM on Saturday November 2. Included in this event will be the following: 1. The Rolling Thunder “Run To The Wall” 2. An impressive FORMATION FLYOVER presented and performed by the 1st TN Squadron Warbirds of America. 3. A Missing Man Ceremony. 4. A tribute to Vietnam KIA from Benton Co. 5. The guest speaker for this event will be Barry Rice, the TN State chapter President of the Vietnam Veterans of America.
