Benton Harbor is financially challenged because of over forty years of incompetent elected leadership, unqualified city staff and politically unsophisticated city voters. Are people that simply work in the city supposed to just hand over their hard earned money without a fight? Benton Harbor leaders want this city income tax passed in order to bail out their forty years of violating the public trust and irresponsible conduct. The State Ordered EFM has stated in the media that ANY money generated by the proposed city income tax will be dumped into the citys corrupt and mismanaged pension fund. Certain BH city commissioners want to avoid taking responsibility for their inept legacy and want to steal money from people that had nothing to do with their citys financial and social decay.
