Separation The Course in Miracles tells me over and over again that the separation from God has not occurred; that what I think and experience as real is but a dream. However it seems to me that I, Alan, as the dreamer of this dream of separation believe that the impossible has actually occurred. In Truth however there are no answers in the world. The course tells me to not deny what my bodys eyes show but to ask for help from HS to see the world through Christs vision which I think is the same as true perception. When I see everything through Christ‘s Vision, both good and evil then the world as I perceive it ends. It seems to me also that since even though I know this is a dream, I experience it as though it is very real and that connection with other people is helpful in showing me what part of my mind still needs to be healed. For me, this was a process which went something like this. For much of my life If I felt upset or angry at someone (my former wife for example) I thought and reacted as though she were to blame for my upset. After doing the course for a number of years, I had a shift in my perception (a miracle) and I realized no one is doing anything to me except what I need for them to do to help me wake up. And if that person didnt do it, I would have to find someone else to fill that role. For me the whole purpose of the Course is to help me wake to my reality, and not to stay stuck in the dream. I believe that relationships can be a most helpful tool in the awakening process if rightly perceived and turned over to HS. And if not, they can serve as a delaying process as can anything including the Course itself.. I see the Holy Spirit as a Spiritual Optometrist. When we first go to him we have faulty perception. But by getting treatment i.e. reading the text, and doing the lessons, He gradually corrects our perception to true Perception or what I like to call Immaculate Perception. I think the Workbook exercises are called lessons because when we do them on a regular basis as instructed in the introduction to the workbook, our guilt lessens. J The introduction to the course states that it aims at removing the blocks to the awareness of loves presence, which is your natural inheritance. That makes the course a blockbuster.
