Bernie HughesAarhus convention to be tested for the first time in the Irish Court. 5 mins · I would just like to state here and now, once and for all, that the aarhus convention will not be used in the court case being taken against the northside 9 by GMC Sierra in the high court tomorrow. Now Brendan and anyone else that cares to listen, I sent this information to Brendan last night, our barrister read through the submission from Brendan last week and on his observation he suggested that this would not be relevant to this case but that if anyone wished to bring a case against Irish Water under the Aarhus convention they would need to have their own scientific evidence to prove that there is an environmental threat and an impact on the health and well being of the Irish people. Now Brendan you keep stating that you cannot take a case because you are not local but I beg to differ because what I have been advised by our legal team is that any citizen can bring this case if you have a perceived threat that this is detrimental to the Irish people as I have stated above. Brendan I have rang you at least 10 times since last night to discuss this with you. I can not understand why you are insisting that anything to do with the aarhus convention will be used in the case tomorrow. If you are suggesting that people come to court expecting this you are wrong as stated above we have our defense and we are happy with that defense regardless what you have been saying on this page and else where.
