Did Arafat asks Israeli government to recognize Palestine as an Arab state? No. Did Arafat and Abbas both recognize Israel? Yes. Both have already recognize Israel on the 1967 borders and east Jerusalem as Palestinian future capital. Do Israel accept that? No. Berta wrote: || With the acknowledgment of Israel as the Jewish state, comes the automatic recognition of the breadth and depth of Jewish history and historical rights of Jews to this land.|| Berta, why are you ignoring Palestinian history and historical right of Palestinians to this land? Palestinians do have Jewish ancestry and mixed with other conquers in the same region over the centuries. Why do you support people that converted to Judaism that have no connection and have more right to live in Israel, then the Palestinian people? Jews werent only people that living in the region, because there were other group of people as well. Even the group of people live there before Jews. Abbas wants a state, but he also wants a historical narrative which will be more just, deeper stronger, and longer than the historical narrative of Jews. He cannot get it if he recognizes Israel as a Jewish state.|| Because Israel as a Jewish state doesnt represents Israeli Arabs. You are telling us Israel is not homeland to the Israeli Arabs and other minority but only Jews?l? That is UNACCEPTABLE! It is undeniable that Israel is Palestinian homeland too!
