Bertha is 1 of 11 on NYACCs Kill List for 7/23/13. Please share. Bertha is a dog you want to take home and just love up! Despite obviously receiving no care in her 4 years AMERICAN BULLDOG mix Bertha carries herself with a dignified air. We love her tender face and beautiful liquid eyes which long to a caring new home. We are saddened to see her condition of this 48 pound lady which speaks to a life of abandonment. Bertha’s nails were very long upon intake, she has some patches of hair loss on her pretty cream and tan colored coat, and she looks to have little scrapes on her body. Was Bertha really a stray or was she simply a dog thrown out in the backyard and told to “be quiet?” Little Bertha knew she had a big job on her hands when she came into the doomed doors of the ACC. So she took a big breath and put her best paw forward for the assessment team. Despite Bertha’s poor external condition, she pulled the coveted results we all want to see from the intake: “bright, alert, responsive, hydrated.” What does this mean? Bertha is a dog who will make a wonderful friend and companion and she is able and willing to respond to human compassion. Please help Bertha and she will be so appreciative. She will change your life! Bertha is already on the ACC’s radar to destroy. They have placed her on the euthanasia list tonight. She will not have a tomorrow unless we act as her community to intervene. Please let’s help Bertha tonight so she can have a tomorrow!
