Bertie was a polar bear. He really liked beer and pizza, but because of his home being situated on Antarctica it was very difficult for him to acquire these luxuries. He would often phone up pizza igloo and try and get them to deliver to his frozen outcrop on the cliff. Most of the time they were unable to get the seal pizza to his door though as the road was too unstable. The road was made of penguins as they are the only things which had black on them. Millions of penguins were employed to lay face down in the snow so that their backs could be used as the road. This did have its advantages and disadvantages. The predominant advantage was it was easy to navigate. However the penguins had a good union and were often on strike, meaning that roads would get up and walk away from time to time. The other disadvantage was that the road was made from penguins. Bertie also relied on the beer deliveries from the albatross. These were unfortunately irregular and often resulted in a concsion as it was customary for the albatross to simply drop the delivery from the air to dispatch it. Bertie still used them as he liked the company slogan Heavens above my delivery has arrived! and the notion of beer being dropped from heaven humbled Bertie. On days when the weather was good Bertie would usually do nothing at all. My book essay so far.
