Best feeling ever- I did social work for over 20 years, and in doing so I always hoped that I would be helping others. Well tonight I had a woman come up to me who recognized me by name, and told me that I had saved her daughter. I had worked with her daughter and the mother, when her daughter was a troubled teen. It felt so good to hear that I had a positive impact on her daughter as well as the mothers relationship with her daughter. Now this teen is a young women who graduated high school (when I worked with her she was about to drop out), got her medical assisting degree, and is now working in the medical profession. I loved what I use to do as a social worker and often miss working with teens and families and tonight talking to this parent it reaffirmed my belief in what I did for so many years- helping others find the positive in sometimes a negative situation.
