Best hospital visit ever! 1 - Pats gained nearly 3kg this year better than average for his age. This shows that almost 10 years to the day that he had half his bowel removed, the remaining bowel has thickened to compensate and is now absorbing well. 2 - As a result the doc said he is an ideal candidate for weening off tube feeds (gobsmacked!) so we are now slowly reducing night feed so this time next year he could have his mickey button removed - whoop! 3 - surrounded by screaming babies my boy sat calmly in the waiting room for nearly 2 hours instead of stressing in sensory room needing a play therapist like previous visits. 4 - he then sat calmly in pizza express, waited nicely for his food and ate everything on his plate. Things other people maybe take for granted but groundbreaking progress for us.
