Best of 2014 Playlist Track 20: Blue Moon - Beck While its hard to point to an artist who carries on the David Bowie mantle while the Thin White Duke continues an impressive output, Ill go ahead and nominate Beck. At least in terms of the whole stylistic variance from album to album while still retaining his essential Beck-ness and a lyrical world view that I can get behind. Morning Phase is track-for-track one of Becks better efforts (Midnite Vultures being my fave) and Blue Moon is a gorgeous example of the breadth of vision hes going for. Probably the prettiest song Ive heard all year, it was a contender for final track in the playlist. Until.....
