**Better News For Travelers** The newest weather data no longer - TopicsExpress

**Better News For Travelers** The newest weather data no longer has the 2 storm systems combining into a massive storm. Instead the updated maps keeps the storms close to one another, but separate. If that happens the ingredients wont fully merge either. The swarm of moisture will arrive before the cold air moves into the area, and while it will still be windy on Christmas, the winds will be considerably less than what the data has had for the past week. The first storm on late Tuesday through Christmas Eve will bring mild weather and rain (amounts in the 1/2 to 1 range most likely). The second storm early Christmas morning will bring cold air and light snow with breezy conditions. If this scenario plays out the way it looks right now, then the cold air will probably lag to the west as our next storm system arrives next Saturday the 27th, keeping the heaviest snow northwest of our area. The storms can still shift their track, and if they do I will post an update. At this point the weather is trending in the right direction for holiday travelers. In the long range the cold and snow look likely as we get into January.
