Betty and me wrote a lot of poems to each other over the years. This is one I wrote to her in 2009. It was Easter morning when Betty awoke to the sounds of the bullfrogs when they started to croak She went to the kitchen to get the coffee a-brewin and thought she would catch her a rabbit for stewin. So she put on her jacket and grabbed a big net She was lookin for dinner, a rabbit shell get. Ill surprise Paul tonight, with a nice dinner meal Maybe invite someone, probably Bill. So Paul piddles round doin whatever he could and thought to himself, dinner sure smells good Betty was proud of her dinner surprise to fix something special for both of them guys. so dinner was over and Paul licked his plate and said, What was all that good stuff we just ate? So Betty tells him, Its the least I could do, Was to fix this all special, just for you two. That stuff in the bowl that you ate with a scoop Its my special, I call it my, Jelly Bean Soup. Those were Easter eggs deviled as you could see Atop clover-leaf salad made special by me. And that was marshmallow chickens on top of the cake But they melted all over as it started to bake. That bowl of corn...that you were a-cravin, That was yellow M & Ms that Id been a-savin. And that main dish...I made...just for you Was the most special of all, my own rabbit stew. I got up early and I went lookin for this old rabbit, sos I can do my cookin. I chased that thing round the block for 2 hours Till finally I caught him, a-eatin my flowers. Bein the first rabbit I ever did cook I never found the wishbone, but I looked and looked, So tell me guys, did you like that dinner at all? Paul looked at Bill and Bill looked at Paul Sure we did, (Belch, Burp)..Yeah, it was good, burp, burp fart.. fart....belch...burp...fart !!!!! Betty and Paul just love old silly poems like this. And actually she was an excellent cook. She could take leftovers and make a good meal out of them. I sure do miss her and Im going to miss her poems.
