Between Saturday 5 July and Wednesday 9 July, an insecure outbuilding was entered on Patrick Road, West Bridgford and a mountain bike was stolen. The offender(s) appeared to have climbed over into a secure rear garden. The following mountain bike has been stolen Carrera mountain bike in black (2011 Model). The bike has an on electronic speedometer and also an iPhone dock on the handlebar. If you have any information about this incident please contact Nottinghamshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 000831-09072014 Scrap metal collectors were seen in the area by a resident on Patrick Road, and although the two incidents are not linked at this time, the Police are asking people to report any suspicious activity. Crime prevention advice: • Always make sure that your shed is locked and secure. Preferably use a close shackled lock (to prevent cropping) or an alarmed padlock. Choose padlocks that state “HARDENED”. Consider a shed alarm. • Never leave tools or other items, including ladders, out in the garden that could be used to break into your shed. • Hinges are often unscrewed or forced – swap some of the screws for coach bolts. • Ensure items of value such as tools and cycles are clearly marked, preferably with CreMark. • If possible lock your valuables to other items within the outbuilding, such as lawn mowers or other large items. • Register serial numbers of tools and cycles free of charge on immobilise • ENSURE YOUR INSURANCE ADEQUATELY COVERS YOUR POSSESSIONS.
