Between researching the Holocaust, reading about the recent CIA torture and my Palestine seeking justice at the International Criminal Court, I ran into Benjamin Ferencz, who connected the three subjects! Mr. Ferencz was the American Armys Chief Prosecutor at the Nuremberg Military Tribunals or the Einsatzgruppen Trials. He was a Romanian American Jew who had somehow been assigned to the job of setting up a war crimes branch and collecting evidence for these trials. One must wonder what brilliance did this Ferencz demonstrated, considering he was then only 27 years of age with a low rank of sergeant, to be appointed to such a high position! Never mind , In this capacity, he was sent to concentration camps and therefore was primarily responsible for the evidence presented, and it is his work which is still today presented as proof that these German Task Forces (commando units) were THE Mobile Killing Units which were responsible for the killing of at least 1.2 million Jews between July 1941 to late 1943 including the famous Babi Yar massacre in Kiev. During a candid moment in an interview with the Washington Post on July 24 2005, Mr. Ferencz openly admitted that he had used threats of summary execution against civilians to obtain confessions. You know how I got witness statements? I would go into a village where, say an american pilot had parachuted and been beaten to death, and line everyone up against the wall. Then Id say, anyone who lies will be shot on the spot. In the same interview, he also confessed to being at least a passive participant, or observer, in the torturing of captured Nazis at a concentration camp. I once saw a DPs ( Displaced Persons) beat an SS man and then strap him to the steel gurney of a crematorium. They slid him in the oven, turned on the heat and took him back out. Beat him again, and put him back in until he was burnt alive. I did nothing to stop it. Just one of many aberrations of justice ,I am still reading about, which took place during these trials. aberrations which are never mentioned in ANY modern history book. Later, he became an advocate for the establishment of the International Criminal Court. https://furtherglory.files.wordpress/20…/…/ohrdruf02.jpg Looking at this photo below, where Ferenzc is taking notes standing next to General Eisenhower at Ohrdruf prisoner camp and considering his quotes above, one is left wondering if he is writing Prisoners burnt alive at an extermination camp or These bodies are being burnt instead of buried in order to stop the spread of a typhus epidemic.??
