Beware: server rant ahead! This couple came in last night to eat dinner and have a few drinks. I physically cringe every time I see them walk through the front door because they always sit with me at the bar, and they always complain about EVERYTHING! Doesnt matter how perfect the service, or how their food is exactly to their specifications. Last night, though I was super busy, and their entrees came out before their appetizer. On a crazy busy night, it happens, most people roll with it, and its fine. The manager was going to take care of it and comp it off the bill. Well they absolutely freaked out, and were complete a-holes about it like I had kicked their puppy or something. They made rude comments, yelled a request at me while I was serving the table behind them and overall handled it in the least constructive way. They even yelled something passive aggressive at my manager as he walked by. After comps their meal was $7 and they tipped me $2. Anyway, I really really wish (without getting in trouble, obviously) I could just tell them listen guys, we obviously dont make you happy, maybe its in everyones best interest if you dont come back. I can dream right?
