Bible Scripture 101 (Ok, this is a BIG misquoted one!) MATT 7:1 Do not judge, or you to shall be judged. *Christians AND non-Christians alike take this as to simply NOT judge others. Period. Well, look @ other passages: ~MATT 7:2-5 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.And why beholdest thou the mote (speck) that is in thy brothers eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, FIRST cast out the beam out of thine own eye; AND THEN shalt thou see clearly TO CAST OUT the mote OUT THY BROTHERS EYE. ~LEV19:15 Ye shall do no unrighteousness in judgment: thou shalt not respect the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty: but in righteousness SHALT THOU JUDGE thy neighbour. ~JOHN 7:24 Judge not according to the appearance, BUT JUDGE righteous judgment. **Ok, so does this LOOK like God says to NEVER JUDGE? Nope. (And there are more passages but u get the point!) MATT 7:1 ISNT to warn against judging others, its a warning on judging WITHOUT self righteousness or hypocrisy. We are to judge w/ gentleness, in love. That FIRST we MUST judge ourselves & not to judge another for a sin by which WE OURSELVES ARE GUILTY OF. Remove the SAME SIN out your life b4 judging the SAME one in others. He never says TO NOT SAY NOTHING TO OTHERS ABOUT THEIR SIN. This is ALL ABOUT HOW TO DO IT IN THE RIGHT WAY. PERIOD! Over & over thru bible it tells us we ARE to judge & HOW TO DO SO.....this again, why its imp to stop picking apart scripture. The bible The bible is written COLLECTIVELY AS A WHOLE from beginning to END! NOW We see in this world how SO MANY USE Matt 7:1 to JUSTIFY THEIR SIN! God Bless!! ;)*
