Bicycle Queenslands Admin Guru Jane is out test riding the Cycle Queensland 2014: Agnes Water to Coolum Beach route. Yesterday she rode Day 3 - Rosedale to Bargara. Heres an excerpt from her diary... The rolling terrain from yesterday continues for the first 33klm of today, until we reach our rest stop at Avondale. The route flattens out a little bit at about the 18klm mark but then the rollers start again. Dont be dismayed by the rollers, they are easily negotiated. Momentum from the previous downhill will help you up the next one. I stopped at the Avondale Tavern for a cool drink as the day was warm and sunny. After the Avondale rest stop the route flattens out and cane fields become more prominent. We take a back route into Bundaberg, cross the Burnett River and head to beautiful Bargara for a well-earned rest day. The ride along Bargara Esplanade was great. I had a tailwind and the scenery was beautiful. Our campsite at Nielsen Park is in a prime location - only a short stroll to the beach and theres a bike path along the foreshore. A great rest day location.
