Big Kyle Sanders update for today. Please hang with me until the end. As you know, Kyle went through 6 months of chemo to treat the tumor in his chest. Pictures in the beginning showed a massive tumor which was 15x12x7 cms. About two months ago they measured it again and it had shrunk by 1/3. He continued on with treatment until it finished last month. Again, he had another pet scan. The good news is that the tumor hasnt grown, the not so good news is that it didnt shrink anymore either. When we met with his doctor last week, we heard that his Cancer is now refractory, meaning, it has outsmarted the chemo and has become aggressive. So now we kick it up a notch. His care is being moved to Moffitt because they are better suited for this cycle as he will have to basically live at the hospital, protected from everything. That treatment will last about three months. Then another scan to see how it worked and then most definitely a bone marrow transplant, using his own bone marrow. Why am I telling you this? Because this last year I have learned to be still and find something sweet in every moment of everyday. Its sad that it takes something like this to slow us down and make us consider how glorious and precious is this little thing we call life. Call someone you havent talked to in a while, forgive somebody whether they deserve it or not, love so much that people think you are crazy because at the end of the day, the lights go out, and a moment has passed that you will never ever have again. Im in the process of setting up Kamp Kyle again and until December 3rd we are gonna live like we were dying. For those of you who want to come sit by the fire, come on. Wed love to have you. ❤️
