Big day for us at the Trust! We just received notification that we got a $7,000 grant from The Bama Works Fund. Their generous grant will go to support our Native Plants Now Project. For a description of this critical program read on: Native plant propagation is labor-intensive work. It requires identifying desirable native species, collecting seeds from them, germinating them in the park’s nursery and then hand-planting them. The park lacks the staffing to keep pace with this work. Currently, park staff are working in the nursery after hours and on their time off, which is not sustainable.
