Bigotry is often considered a phenomenon exclusive to the political right. Bigotry comes in all stripes, however; and I would posit that those of the political left are just as often, if not more so, guilty of bigotry. On a slightly different note, I dislike bigotry launched as a criticism generally, because it often is used to shield less-than-critical thinking, and weak-mindedness that skirts critical reflection. Altogether I think politicos need to understand better the definitions of the words they, so carelessly at times, hurl around.
