Bikes v Motorists Motorists need to get used to the fact that bikes are not only here to stay but they are going to be seen more and more on the roads as society wakes up to the benefits of riding bikes as opposed to driving cars. In a perfect world every road would have a bike lane as well as lanes for cars but we all know its not a perfect world. Why cant we have roads that are designated cycling routes and ensure cyclists have rights to the whole lanes on those routes. If motorists dont want to be delayed they can use alternative routes that arent designated for cycling. Basically split the roads into 2 categories, roads with priority for motorists even exclude bikes from those and roads where bikes have the priority?? Surely thats not too difficult to figure out! Remember there can only be one result in fights between vulnerable road users and motorists!
