Bill Foundation Liked · 2 hrs PENNY IS HOME! Penny is finally out of boarding and in a spectacular foster home with JT!!!! Hurrah!! We brought her over this morning, and, as expected, she’s been adjusting really well. JT sent us this incredible picture and fun videos: look at her playing tug-o-war with Cara (who’s also available for adoption)! Shes clearly happy, and she clearly has a great appetite. Within just a few minutes of having Penny over, JT texted, “I’m loving Penny! She’s amazing! Knows where the water and potty pad are already, and super spunky!” Her spirit is nothing short of amazing, that’s for sure. She’s a fighter and doesn’t let a few health issues get in her way. When we pulled her from the shelter, we learned that her previous owners never treated her dry eyes which resulted in major damage to the quality of her eyes and eyesight. She’s now nearly blind, although she sees light and shadow pretty well. She also suffers from a suspected lower airway disease and pulmonary hypertension, which causes her to cough a lot; and, after removing two mammory tumors, we discovered one was malignant and the cancer had spread into her lymph nodes. But none of this phases her, and it’s clear that it’s not her time to cross the rainbow bridge. As promised, we will be there for her every step of the way. We and JT are committed to providing her the best quality of life while she continues to smile and dance. We need your help, though. She’s on seven different meds for her eyes, cough and heart, and even though we are going through a fabulous local pet pharmacy that provides us with a pretty big discount, it’s still costing us approximately $600 a month ($7200 a year). ** Will you join us and pledge your commitment to our precious Penny and donate a lucky $7 to her care? ** Every dollar donated is a life saver. Please show Penny some love and “like” this post and share it far and wide! Thank you for your continued support, and special thanks to JT for opening his heart and home to a special needs dog.
