On this day, 13 years ago, my life was changed. I was in the military and sipping my coffee early in the morning as I normally did when I was summoned to our command center. A young airman came into my office and said I had to come see what what on CNN live right now. A plane had just hit the world trade center. The first thing that went through my mind was it was either a joke (G.I.s often rib each other) or it was something else he was trying to pull. I saw on the screen a billow of smoke coming from the first tower and was thinking Wow, that is sure odd. A few minutes later we all saw the second plane hit the second tower. There was 5 or 6 of us in the command center and we immediately looked at each other thinking Is ths real? Did I just see what I thought I saw? It really took a few moments for that scene to sink in. This couldnt have been coincidence that two planes mistakenly hit those towers. It didnt take long, a few minutes after the 2nd plane hit, for the Red Phone to ring. That Red Phone call changed my life that day. Theres never a day that goes by that I dont think of that day. For those that think we should forget, Darryl Worrley explains why we shouldnt. youtu.be/p6yLQRF-cEU
