Bill Grainger: The two friends argued and then went their separate ways without reconciling their differences. That evening neither sleep. The Bible instructs us to settle our differences before we part: be angry and do not sin: do not let the sun go down on your anger nor give place to the devil. There are obvious reasons why God wants you to solve a disagreement quickly. For one, when you bring the right kind of closure to a hurtful matter, you free yourself and the other person emotionally and spiritually. Those who refuse to extend forgiveness are the losers. Nothing soothes a guilt worn conscience like the forgiveness and the love of God. When we forgive others we do what God did for us. We also align our lives with His standard of obedience. Forgiveness is not always easy but it is essential to emotional and phyiscal health. God promises to deal personally with those who have harmed us. Whether six or sixty everyone of us deserved death. Yet thru the work of His wondrous grace and forgiveness we were given eternal life. Help me Lord to extend Your love.
