Bill Kirchen, Sun., June 22, 7 p.m., at The ArtsCenter in Carrboro is a Music Where well be in Indy Week! The guitarist Bill Kirchen rose to prominence in the late-60s as a Telecaster-slinger for iconic Detroit country-rockers Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen. Their energetic blend of honky-tonk, Bakersfield country, Western swing and rockabilly presaged Texas country. When they broke up in the mid-70s, Kirchen formed the Moonlighters before going solo in the 90s and releasing nine studio albums. Hes a tremendously talented and eclectic player, though his bread and butter remains rootsy rock.
