Birmingham, the combination of modernization and ancient elegance Wandering on Birmingham streets, you would feel you were travelling between two different time and spaces. Last minute you may be intrigued by its classic and immersed yourself into its charm, and then the next second the modern and glorious architectures dragged you back to the real world. The Birmingham Museum and Art Gallery looked like the miniature of the city’s past and the recorder of its civilization, where you could find its glory and depression, its pride and dishonour, and its luxury and poverty. Thousands of sounds were echoing around the ceilings with silence. Who can exactly understand what they were talking? Several birds were picking up something on the roof of St. Martin’s Church. They flew to and fro, chasing each other around the tower. Could today’s bird sense the happiness and grieves of the past ones? Did the tower remember the birds of last year? Years passed by.
