Graveside service will be 3:00 p.m., Tuesday at Abilene Municipal Cemetery with Pastor David Leryle officiating, directed by Abilene Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday at Abilene Funeral Home, 3349 N. 12th St. Mr. Walker was born September 17, 1957, in Dallas, Texas to the late Elien Wayne and Martha Joan Walker. Since 1980 Gerry has lived in Abilene, working in various ministries such as First Baptist, Family Life Center, Love and Care and City Lights Ministry. He also worked at H.V. Chapman and was dear to employees there. He touched lives in a most unusual manner and placed all his hopes in God and his Son. Anyone who called Gerry would always be greeted by Praise God . Survivors include her sisters, Sherry Cole, Linda Reeves, Barbara Lewis and husband Don, Karen Pasque and Beverly Sparks, all of Jacksonville, TX, of Abilene; nephew, Jason Alpers, of Richardson. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Jimmy Walker; sister, Sandy Alpers.
