Bish, Bash, Bosh! The stats are in on the Northern Soul documentary Living For The Weekend which aired on BBC4 last Friday. Over half a million TV viewers in the UK decided to watch this show LIVE last Friday prime-time, which is pretty incredible for a specialist music documentary. Heres how we got the gist of the reaction:- The viewing figure for Northern Soul: Living For The Weekend (FRI, 25-07-2014, 21:30-22:30) is 558,900. The slot average is 378,800 This was for the 1st showing - it got shown twice more over the weekend, so Ive no idea what the cumulative figure is. But hey. Not bad ay? Please note: I study this stuff OK? Its part of my job. Im obviously very critical of my own performance but in the grand scheme of things I can live with it. :) I think it hit the mark. To the general public who dont know much about the scene, I believe they would have got a good flavor about how it was back in the early 70s, when the Northern Soul scene was the ONLY scene to be on if you were up North, into obscure Soul music and kinda lively. Made perfect sense. Theres quite a few highlights which Im still chuckling about. Yes, we were that crazy and passionate and hopefully this documentary gets that across.
