Bismillah-hir-Rahman-nir-Raheem, Harrow Mosque has elections coming up with the livingmasjid campaign (associated with al Baraka madrasa) running to replace the current Sunni Harrow Mosque committee. It is important to understand the background of the the livingmasjid people. The Salafi scholar and historian Ibn Jibrin said: And by careful study of these centuries: the fourth, the fifth, the sixth, and most of the seventh, you do not find anyone that is upon the school of the Sunnah This shows that the wahabi (also called salafi) aqidah was dead for centuries and did not continue every generation. Compare this to the sahih hadith where the Prophet said: From every succeeding generation its upright folk shall carry this knowledge in turn. They shall repeal from it the distortions of the extremists (tahrif al-ghalin), the (mis)interpretations of the ignorant (tawil al-jahilin), and the pretenses of the liars (intihal al-mubtilin). (Ahmed declared it Sahih as narrated by al-Khallal in his `Ilal per al-Khatib in Sharaf As-hab al-Hadith p. 29. It is narrated in numerous hadith collections like Tabarani, Ibn Adi, Ibn Abd al-Barr). This shows that the wahabi movement opposes the Prophet, as well as opposes sahih hadiths. The wahabi movement is also the movement behind extremists like al-Qaeda and ISIS. The origins of Wahabism lie in the person Muhammed ibn Abdul Wahhab, who led an ISIS style rebellion in the 18th century. He was directly responsible for the killing of countless innocent men, women and children, as well as attacks upon Makkah and Medinah (which he declared as dar al kufr). This can be found in the historical accounts of the time, as well as in the book by his own brother Sulayman ibn Abdul Wahhab (in the book called Divine Lightning). The Wahabi movement was considered as a khariji movement (also called khawarij) by the leading scholars of the day. Do you want wahabis to take over Harrow Mosque? Do you want people who oppose the Sunnah to take over Harrow Mosque? Do you want extremism to take over Harrow Mosque and for it to appear in the media over extremism (like Brick lane Mosque)? If you dont, then say no to livingmasjid (the people of which are wahabis) and ask the Sunnis to become members and stop the wahabis from taking over the Mosque. The Sunnis built this Mosque alhamdulillah and numerous famous Ulema have been hosted there such as Shaykh Nuh Keller, Habib Ali Jifri, Abdul Hakim Murad, Afifi al Akiti, Shaykh Yaqoubi, Mohammed Faid etc so do not let it become wahabi. Once it becomes wahabi, the wahabis will enforce their views on everyone and stamp out Sunni-Sufi Islam, just like wahabis enforce their views in whichever Mosque or institution they take over. Currently the wahabis have got loads of their relatives and friends to join and become members, which means the wahabis have suddenly become the majority and will win, unless Sunnis join. Another hadith about wahabis is the following: ‘Towards the end of time there shall come a people young in age (hudatha’u’l-asnan) and also lacking in intellect (sufaha’u’l-ahlam). They will speak with the best speech of people, yet they shall pass through Islam as an arrow passes through its game. Their faith won’t go beyond their throats. (Bukhari) The other hadiths indicate that this hadith refers to the khawarij. We know this through the signs that the hadiths mention about the khawarij, such as them applying verses revealed about the disbelievers to the Muslims (thats why wahabis often claim shirk!), doing takfir of other Muslims, killing other Muslims, being young yet ignorant etc.
