Bit of a setback this morning: Naomi is sick (fever around 100) and has to stay home from school. Naomi was seriously bummed: But its Picture Day! And Writers Workshop! Andy also continues to be sick and was up from around 3-4 AM doing the nebulizer and then trying to settle back down. As you may have gathered, I was also awakened by all this activity. This is a C-R-A-Z-Y week for me, so Im really hoping that I can remain the Last Person Standing at Casa Carpenter and not catch any cooties. I dont have time to get sick right now! P.S. My 8:40 AM appointment also cancelled because he is sick. P.P.S. While Im keeping it real...I have been asked to attend two (conflicting) special events and three meetings on Rosh Hashanah. It is stunning to me how little the Jewish holidays are on many peoples radar here. Carroll County Public Schools get off for the Jewish holidays. While I dont think we need to do that at McDaniel, it would be nice if they didnt schedule extra faculty meetings and special events on this date.
