Bittersweet but brilliant is the best way to describe this short commercial film. What makes it even more special is that its an ad for a product that has reached the end of its run. It comes from Volkswagen of Brazil and it was created by AlmapBBDO. It earned a Golden Lion Award at Cannes. VW has had some truly great advertising, starting with the incredibly quirky but brilliant work done by Doyle, Dane & Bernbach. Those magazine ads were rated the No. 1 campaign of the 20th Century by Advertising Age. Of course, the Darth Vader ad that ran in the Super Bowl was a major-league winner, as well.
