(Black Education: Pt 1) I am not trying to glorify drug gangs but instead to educate my people and others who have read my story or who will watch this documentary. This same problem is plaguing our inner cities across the country. As soon as I am able to find a legitimate film maker and or a play director the sooner I can turn my book into a movie to share my vision about what my organization will do in Chicago and eventually in 25 other cities in America. The question at hand is why did it take the government so long to intervene and go after the mafia and drug gangs in New York? I believe it was due to political interest and this played well with former mayor Rudy Giuliani. Urban gentrification. Urban gentrification involves population migration as low income residents of a neighborhood are displaced by those who have a higher income level. When a community undergoing gentrification, the average income increases and average family size decreases. This generally results in the displacement of the poorer, pre-gentrification residents, who are unable to pay increased rents, and property taxes, or afford real estate. Often old industrial buildings are converted to residences and shops. New businesses, which can afford increased commercial rent, cater to a more affluent base of consumers further increasing the appeal to higher income migrants and decreasing the accessibility to the poor. Often, resident owners unable to pay the taxes are forced to sell their residences and move to a cheaper community. Local governments favor gentrification because of the increased tax base associated with the new high-income residents, as well as because of other perceived benefits of moving poor people and rehabilitating deteriorated areas. Urban gentrification does not solve the problem of income inequality in this country. My organization will work with community residents and bring in goods and services to those neighborhoods that need and want our services. We will focus on black issues and help restore the black community and the black family. We are in competition for resources. We must become a community of self disciplined and self reliance if we are to actualize and utilize our own human resources, instead of perpetually being exploited by this system called capitalism.
