The primary goals of developing Common-Unity with Gift Shares of Stock are to: • Create a local African American member’s shareholder ownership base of 10,000 local African American consumers, producers, suppliers, owners and employees • Develop viable African American owned businesses in the African American Community • Achieve economic empowerment in the African American Community through financial literacy in Common Unity Wealth Creation • Develop community business industries which employ, empower, train and educate African Americans • Mitigate and eliminate the local African American incarceration problem through economic empowerment, employment, skills training, job readiness training, and life skills education • Serve as a conduit to foster economic entrepreneurship, individual and community wealth creation, debt reduction, and poverty elimination • Narrow and cross the technology digital divide in the minority community • Establish incubators to focus on creating manufacturing jobs in the short and long-term, which provide a livable wage and do not necessarily require a college education, but a viable skill. • Assist the incubators in the pursuit of seed money under the Second Chance Act and government loans from the funds provided by the President’s Job Bill • Become engaged in and integral to Innovation and Ignition Parks, where the evolving nanotechnology initiatives and the “green economy” which could address the employment crisis in our community.
