Blaydon Black Bull Rock and Blues Club shared a link. Hello everybody, This One Goes up to Eleven and if you don’t know the band hopefully you’ll get the allusion to Spinal Tap; and you’ll certainly recognise the music! This One Goes Up To Eleven are a power trio from the North East of England who play an eclectic set of songs from the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Robben Ford, ZZ Top, Cream, The Beatles plus many others. The band get great reviews from the audiences in the venues they play and have a stellar reputation on the local music scene. The bass player, Aaron Johnson, and the drummer, Ian Halford, have both played here before (Aaron with Against the Grain in July 2012, and Ian with the mighty Russ Tippins Electric Band last September.) The virtuoso lead guitarist and vocalist is Daniel Johnson, who has been playing guitar since he was five years old. Watch out for his excellent guitar work on Purple Haze! As usual if you won’t take my word for it have a look at the website thisonegoesuptoeleven.co.uk/, or their Facebook page https://facebook/pages/This-One-Goes-Up-To-Eleven/125969754105335?v=wall. We’ll have the usual Black Bull attractions that you all know and love – the free music quiz; the truly unbelievable raffle; the oh-so-relaxed candlelit atmosphere; the fantastic welcome from our hosts Carl and Jackie; and, of course, Carl’s award winning beers! All this and more for the usual £5 on the door (which opens at 1930 and the band will be on around 2100).
