Blessed beyond measure......that is how to describe the first Camp - TopicsExpress

Blessed beyond measure......that is how to describe the first Camp ERIC retreat. Was it exactly as we planned? Of course not! Was it perfect? Umm....is seeing the breath of the people you are talking to INSIDE the lodge perfect, then yes, it was perfect!! Put the weather part aside and God provided us with beautiful snow capped mountains to gaze at, a room filled with candles, cozy couches with TONS of blankets, thank God, and a day filled with honest, heartfelt expressions of where our retreaters are in their grieving process. Add to that, some beautiful Shabat activities, a homemade luncheon of all of their favorites lovingly made by Debby Watson and I would say the day actually was as close to perfect as possible. Watching our little group rest in a peaceful place outside of the city was precious. Not worrying if we were off schedule or not going by the agenda was wonderful!! Skipping one activity so we could warm up in worship turned out to the best part of the day. Our retreaters poured out their hearts in worship to the LORD for over an hour and a half!! We danced like David danced and sang, prayed, and expressed our gratitude to the LORD through this time. It was so much fun and so deeply moving for each of us!! We are humbled, blessed and amazed at how God uses us to minister and bless those who are grieving with an experience that nurtures them, soothes their hearts and refreshes them with rest, worship, prayer and recreation. These four components that the LORD gave us as our mission truly are powerful in healing! Yesterday in church, Pastor Todd had our group come up and share their experiences and it was humbling and beautiful to hear them share how much the six week grief group helped and how wonderful the retreat was and how theyd do it again! We laughed about the temperature and praised God for the healing theyve experienced through Camp ERICs grief group and retreat. In the last two days, every time I think of it all, I am just amazed that God is using my brothers name ERIC to mean so much for His kingdom.Experiencing Restoration in Christ is truly what He has in store for all who come to these retreats and camps and we are humbled to be a part of it and to be used!! Thank you for all your prayers, support and encouragement!! Retreat #1.....a success!!!
