Blessed to be able to share with Drew and Ian where my Dads family started in this country. Thankful for family and the ties that bind. We are a family of Welsh, Irish and German immigrants that came to the USA close to 2 centuries ago. I will forever be in awe of the fortitude it took for my ancestors to leave everything they knew to start a new life in a world that was only rumored to offer opportunity for the likes of them. We found our new lives in the coal mines of the PA area. We slaved and toiled for a minimal existence. Some worked the mines as young as 5 years old, most were dead by 50. Generations later we are doctors, lawyers, business owners, police officers, real estate developers, soldiers, FBI agents, firemen, backcountry guides, veterinary students, artists, CEOs, athletes, farmers and Ivy League graduates. We are producers, democrats and republicans, sinners and saints. Our family is the American dream. We have accomplished what our ancestors intended from the beginning. The sacrifice made by our forefathers will never be forgotten by this family. We are forged by faith and tenacity. Our love and bond to each other is as solid as the earth. Our tree will continue to grow but our roots will forever keep us solid. Distance will happen but blood is everything. Proud. Cymru. Ta gra agam duit.
