Blessings from the Bible That I Might Know Him (Philippians 3:7-11) V7- But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. V8- Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, V9- And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: V10- That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; V11- If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. >The apostle Paul gave up all that he ever had, because he wanted to know who Jesus Christ truly was. He wanted to win Christ, to be found in Christ; and to know Christ. >There are still a lot of people in the world today that know the name Jesus Christ, but they really dont know him. They are not willing to give up all they have, so that they can have a true intimate personal relationship with Jesus Christ. (Matthew 15:8) This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. (Mark 7:6) He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. (Isaiah 29:13) Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men: Be sure you really know Jesus Christ. Know what he has done for you, what he is doing now; and what he can and will do in the future.
