Blockbuster Buys #3 of 11: The Spirit Haha, I hadnt seen this one since I saw it in theaters. Frank WHORES Miller is completely insane and Im loving every second. I once met an actress who was in this movie, so that was pretty cool. Its like Sin City meets Looney Toons and that is in no way a bad thing. I dont care what they say, a movie this uninhibited, this unapologetically over-the-top and intentionally juvenile is a rare gem to be cherished. Frank Miller loves women, relishes violence, waxes cheesy noir machoism and uses sinister Swastika shorthand, even when it makes no ******** sense. I think hes earned that. Samuel L. Jackson and Scarlett Johansson are actually more interesting and essential here then they are in the Avengers. And of course more entertaining. Gabriel Macht is also great as the quizzical, imperfect hero. I also did that he has cats, like Hellboy. A LOT of them. Ive never seen a hero so into pussy.
